In real life I'm a printmaker, letterpress printer, and generally-graphically-inclined person. This blog is more or less a portable sketchbook for me to put fractals in, so I don't have to agonize over whether they're good enough or finished enough or well-titled enough to go in a proper gallery page (by the time I've dithered over them that much, I generally just give up and don't post them at all). Unless otherwise noted, all images were generated using Ultra Fractal.
Insomnia has been hitting me hard, these last several nights, and inspiration and productivity are suffering as a result. I wish I knew of some reliable way of persuading my system to get enough rest.

The intersecting stairwell patterns remind me a bit of Count Olaf's ubiquitous eye pattern, in the credits of the Lemony Snicket movie.
Oh, interesting. I'm going to have to watch that movie again, and pay attention to the sets and general atmosphere. The first time around, I was too busy being annoyed with Jim Carrey.
Really, all you need to do is watch this bit, which has no Jim Carrey.
The gradients on the steps themselves also remind me of zeppelin envelopes stretched over the framework. Lots of interesting associations lurking in this fractal.

An excellent, if creepy, side-effect.
